A Completely Negative Day

And I couldn't be happier!

Can you guess why?

Maybe this picture will give you a clue.

Did you get it?

Two weeks ago we had the clinic personnel come on for a check up of the kids and to give them all HIV tests. Out of the 14 children tested, not a single one had a positive result. We do have one HIV positive child that we already knew about but even a couple of the children who had come to us so sick and whose parents we thought most likely died of AIDS are healthy! No new HIV cases!!!

They were understandably less thrilled than I. Poor Henry showed such curiosity at what this strange man did. Until the prick that is. Then he was thoroughly offended.

Not all the kids reacted so strongly though. Many were brave and all got a cookie at the end.

Peter looked intently at all that was done and then turned to us with a puzzled look: "Ouch. Why did that man hurt me?"

It's not often that negative is a positive word but this day it was and I am so grateful!

  2. Wait. Is that little skinny Peter? The one who was so darn sick and is now a robust cutie pie? Give him a big kiss for me.
